Excilon AMD Antimicrobial I.V. Sponges

Excilon AMD antimicrobial drain sponges are formulated with 0.2% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), a multi-organism targeting antiseptic with a range of uses. Once applied, these drain sponges help control gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria for up to three days. Features Designed for use as a primary dressing around drainage and IV sites and for tracheotomies, Excilon AMD antimicrobial drain sponges: • Target and protects against 15 gram-negative, gram-positive and fungi organisms that can cause infection or inhibit recovery, including MRSA, VRE and other drug-resistant strains. • Provide a solution against cross-contamination between patients and hospital personnel. • Assist with reducing infection risks, including below the dressing, via strike-through and from the hospital environment. • Prevent bacteria colonies from forming and passing through the dressing. • Provide low to minimal cytotoxicity. • Are hypoallergenic and latex free. • Won’t limit or restrict the growth of new cells and formation of tissue during healing.
