Mepilex Lite Foam Dressing

Conforming to the body’s shape, Mepilex® Lite is a thin foam dressing designed to assist with managing no- to low-exudate wounds. Using Safetac® technology, Mepilex® Lite dressings gently adhere to the skin to remain in place without damaging tissue upon removal. This combination allows for atraumatic dressing changes and reduces maceration risks. How Do Mepilex® Lite Dressings Work? Once applied, Mepilex® Lite dressings help create a moist environment without sticking to the wound bed. At the same time, the foam material with sealed edges absorbs and contains exudate, preventing it from leaking onto the surrounding skin. Each Mepilex® Lite dressing features the following components: • Safetac® technology: Safetac® technology provides a two-fold purpose. The material prevents the dressing from adhering to the wound bed and, at the same time, helps seal the wound’s edges. This prevents exudate from leaking out, lessens pain during dressing changes and reduces potential skin reactions after a patient has undergone radiotherapy. • Thin, absorbent foam pads: This material draws in fluid for low-exudate wounds and lets the dressing conform to the wound’s shape. • Polyurethane film: Polyurethane manages to block out exterior moisture, bacteria and viruses. At the same time, a high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) helps create a balanced healing environment.
