Peristeen is a transanal irrigation system for people who suffer from fecal incontinence and constipation. Using Peristeen helps prevent involuntary bowel leakage and/or constipation. The catheter is for single use only. Therefore, use a new catheter each time you irrigate. The catheter is pre-coated for smooth, easy insertion and has a soft inflatable balloon, which sits inside the rectum during irrigation, so you don't have to worry about holding the catheter in place. Peristeen is a transanal irrigation system intended to instill water into the colon through a rectal catheter to promote evacauation of the contents of the lower colon. It is indicated for use by children (2 and up), adolescents, transitional adolescents and adults with neurogenic bowel dysfunction.
